I first laid eyes on Lena while watching the trailer for Imagine Me & You, and to be totally honest I didn't think much of her. Of course I thought she was pretty, but it really isn't uncommon to find pretty people in movie trailers these days is it? I was just more interested in the storyline and thought, 'oh, it has that girl from Coyote Ugly in it too.' Then I watched the movie. I've had many fandom obsessions prior to this, but none have hit me as hard and fast as IMAY, Lena and Piper. Lena being this completely new person to me, I had to find out whatever I could, after I watched IMAY once more that is. I sought out everything I could find on her, pictures, interviews, filmography...anything google would give me! This is before 300 (March 2007) was getting big, so there wasn't a lot of information out there, mainly older stuff. I decided I needed to see more of Lena, so I got a hold of The Cave (2005), The Brothers Grimm (2005), Ripley's Game (2002) and Gossip (2000). Each role was completely different to the next, and Lena convincingly portrayed each role to the max, with seemingly little effort. Her acting is so flawless that you wonder if she was a scientist, a hunter, a wife of a murderer, a university wreaker of havoc, in her previous life. Although her movies might not be huge successes, it doesn't seem to affect or stop her quality of work. I have yet to see the rest of her films, but it is definitely something I will get around to. I am so glad to just know who Lena Headey is, and follow her career as she moves on to great things. I really believe she is an actress who just loves what she does, and puts everything she has into each role, no matter how big or small. Not to mention, she is ridiculously good looking. |
